Littleton Tennis Club News

Thursday 26^th Jan 2012: 

 All clubs were thanked for giving the league organisers a trouble-free year. Littleton was congratulated on being promoted to the Premier division. All current officers re-elected, but warning given that this will be Maureen Windle’s last year as Secretary.

 Winchester won three of the five division trophies, including the Premier division; Warsash & Lymington were the other division winners.

 Dates for the Hants & Isle of Wight Men’s and Ladies’ Summer fixtures:

5^th May; 19^th May; 9^th June; 23^rd June; 7^th July; 21^st July

 Apsley League match dates: Please let League organisers (i.e. Maureen & Margaret) know by Saturday 11^th February any dates to be avoided for Littleton matches. (e.g. Club Finals Day; Littleton Show- no home matches; Jubilee weekend? Half term?) Margaret made a great point of saying that she & Maureen would do their best to accommodate any requests, so over to you to follow up that one!

 Also, the league has no objection to clubs arranging a different start time or even changing to Sunday once the fixtures have been published, if both clubs involved agree.

 First Apsley match likely to be Saturday 21^st  April, but if any club would like a match on Saturday 14^th April, please let Maureen know – again by 11th February

Members at the AGM voted to increase the adult membership subscription beyond the recommendation made by the committee: 'We should pay more... We get great value for our money... Membership is still very cheap compared with other clubs & the facilities at Littleton are better...' 

The annual adult membership for 2011 will cost £95; Junior & Student memberships remain unchanged.

Newly elected members of the Management Committee: Chris Willson as Chairman; Sara Haigh-Strong as Secretary; Chris Stone as Club Captain. Re-elected committee members: Treasurer, Ian Dunn; Club Captain, Les Brown; Grounds, Colin Rees; Junior Organiser, Vivienne Aspin.
